Hourly to salary calculator: yearly pay is the hourly rate times hours per week times 52 weeks, so $20.00 per hour at 40 hours per week is $41,600.00 per year, $3,466.67 per month and $1,600.00 every two weeks, before taxes.
The other way, an hourly rate is the yearly salary divided by the hours worked in a year: $60,000.00 per year over 2,080 hours is $28.85 per hour. The result is an estimate of gross pay, not tax advice; take-home pay depends on the state.

How to convert hourly pay to salary
Start from the hours actually worked. A full-time schedule of 40 hours per week for 52 weeks is 2,080 hours a year; a part-time schedule or unpaid weeks lower that count, and the yearly figure falls with it. Paid holidays and paid vacation count as paid weeks, so a full-time employee with paid time off still reaches all 52 weeks.
Monthly pay is yearly pay divided by 12, which is a little more than four weekly paychecks. A paycheck every two weeks is yearly pay divided by 26, and twice-a-month pay is yearly pay divided by 24.

How the calculator works
- Hourly to salary. Yearly pay = hourly rate x hours per week x paid weeks per year. Monthly = yearly / 12; every two weeks = yearly / 26; weekly = yearly / 52. Cents are rounded at the end.
- Salary to hourly. Hourly rate = yearly salary / (hours per week x paid weeks per year).
- Limits. Hours per week from 1 to 168 and paid weeks from 1 to 52; overtime, tips and bonuses are not included.
Questions people ask
How do I convert an hourly wage to a yearly salary?
Multiply the hourly rate by the hours worked per week, then by 52 weeks. At 40 hours per week that is the rate times 2,080: $20.00 per hour is $41,600.00 per year.
How much is $25.00 an hour per year?
$52,000.00 per year at 40 hours per week and 52 paid weeks, which is $4,333.33 per month and $2,000.00 every two weeks, before taxes.
How do I turn a salary into an hourly rate?
Divide the yearly salary by the hours worked in a year (hours per week times paid weeks). $60,000.00 per year at 40 hours per week is $28.85 per hour.
Is the result take-home pay?
No. It is gross pay before federal and state taxes and deductions. The paycheck calculator for your state shows the take-home pay and what the employer pays on top.
Does the calculator count overtime?
No. It multiplies one hourly rate by the hours you enter. Hours past the overtime threshold are usually paid at a higher rate, which raises the yearly figure.
