Oklahoma paycheck calculator for tax year 2026: take-home pay and what the employer pays, per paycheck and per year. Oklahoma withholds income tax from annualized pay minus $1,000 for each allowance on Form OK-W-4, using single or married tables whose rates reach 4.5%, rounded to the nearest whole dollar (Packet OW-2, 2026 Oklahoma Income Tax Withholding Tables (revised 11-2025, effective January 1, 2026)). Figures checked on September 29, 2026; the result is an estimate, not tax advice.

How Oklahoma taxes a paycheck
The calculator applies the IRS Publication 15-T percentage method and, for Oklahoma, the Percentage formula method, annual payroll period table (Packet OW-2, 2026 Oklahoma Income Tax Withholding Tables) of the Oklahoma Tax Commission, in effect for wages paid from January 1, 2026. Social Security takes 6.2% of wages up to $184,500 a year and Medicare 1.45% of all wages (plus 0.9% on wages above $200,000 a year), and the employer pays Social Security and Medicare again at the same rates (Publication 15 (2026), (Circular E), Employer's Tax Guide). The oldest Oklahoma document behind these figures was checked on September 29, 2026.
Oklahoma rebuilt its brackets for the year. The old ladder of many small rates was replaced by a tax free bracket and a short set of rates, 2.5%, 3.5% and 4.5%, and the Tax Commission reissued its withholding tables to match. For a single filer taxable income up to $3,750 after the standard deduction is not taxed at all, and the married brackets are wider (Packet OW-2, 2026 Oklahoma Income Tax Withholding Tables (revised 11-2025, effective January 1, 2026); Enrolled House Bill No. 2764 (2025), amending 68 O.S. section 2355).
Allowances still drive the Oklahoma calculation, unlike many states that moved away from them. Form OK-W-4 counts an allowance for the employee, another for a spouse who does not work, another for each dependent, and any additional allowances for itemized deductions or credits. Each allowance takes $1,000 a year off the wages before the tables are applied, the same amount as the state personal exemption (Packet OW-2, 2026 Oklahoma Income Tax Withholding Tables (revised 11-2025, effective January 1, 2026)).
The standard deduction is not a separate step: the Tax Commission builds it into the tables together with the tax free bracket, so the tables start taxing only after both are used up. Employees who are married but want more withheld can pick the option to withhold at the higher single rate, and the employer then uses the single table (Packet OW-2, 2026 Oklahoma Income Tax Withholding Tables (revised 11-2025, effective January 1, 2026)).
The Tax Commission requires the result to be rounded to the nearest whole dollar, rounding up at the midpoint. Any additional amount on the certificate is added per paycheck. Oklahoma has no city or county income tax on wages and no state disability or paid leave payroll deduction, so the only state line on the paycheck is this withholding.
The employer's side in Oklahoma
Oklahoma employers pay state unemployment tax to the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission on each employee's wages up to the taxable wage base, at the new employer rate until their own experience rating applies. There is no Oklahoma employer contribution for disability or family leave, and no local payroll tax.
Every employer also owes federal unemployment tax (FUTA): 6% on the first $7,000 of each employee's wages a year. With the full 5.4% credit for state unemployment tax paid on time, the net rate is 0.6%, at most $42 per employee a year (IRS Topic no. 759, Form 940, Employer's Annual Federal Unemployment (FUTA) Tax Return).
In Oklahoma, a new employer pays state unemployment tax at 1.5% on the first $25,000 of each employee's wages a year (U.S. DOL, Office of Unemployment Insurance: Significant Provisions of State Unemployment Insurance Laws, effective July 2026). Later the rate follows the employer's own record, so the line in the result is the starting cost, not a fixed one.

Worked examples
Three pay levels for a single filer paid every two weeks, with the default entries of the form, computed with the same code as the calculator.
| Gross pay per paycheck | Federal income tax per paycheck | Social Security and Medicare per paycheck | Oklahoma deductions per paycheck | Take-home pay per paycheck | Employer cost per paycheck |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $1,200.00 | $60.15 | $91.80 | $35.00 | $1,013.05 | $1,317.00 |
| $2,500.00 | $216.15 | $191.25 | $93.00 | $1,999.60 | $2,743.75 |
| $5,000.00 | $766.69 | $382.50 | $206.00 | $3,644.81 | $5,487.50 |
At $2,500.00 per paycheck the employee takes home $51,989.60 per year, and the employer spends $70,389.50 per year on that job before benefits.
Full time at the Oklahoma minimum wage (large employer) of $7.25 per hour (U.S. DOL WHD, State Minimum Wage Laws (Oklahoma), checked September 27, 2026), 40 hours per week, is $580.00 per paycheck every two weeks: $528.63 per paycheck take-home, and $636.55 per paycheck for the employer.

Questions people ask
What are the Oklahoma income tax rates this year?
A tax free bracket, then 2.5%, 3.5%, and 4.5% on the rest. For single filers taxable income up to $3,750 is not taxed (Packet OW-2, 2026 Oklahoma Income Tax Withholding Tables (revised 11-2025, effective January 1, 2026); Enrolled House Bill No. 2764 (2025), amending 68 O.S. section 2355).
How much does each Oklahoma withholding allowance reduce taxable wages?
$1,000 a year, spread over the pay periods, which matches the Oklahoma personal exemption (Packet OW-2, 2026 Oklahoma Income Tax Withholding Tables (revised 11-2025, effective January 1, 2026)).
Can the federal withholding certificate be used for Oklahoma?
The Tax Commission tells employers to use the allowances claimed on Form OK-W-4, the state certificate.
I am married and both of us work. Which status should I pick?
Form OK-W-4 offers married, but withhold at the higher single rate. The employer then uses the single table, which usually brings the combined withholding closer to the joint tax.
Why is my Oklahoma withholding a whole dollar amount?
The Tax Commission requires percentage method results to be rounded to the nearest dollar.
